Record highs for US renewables industry

US solar panel manufacturing capacity has reached 43 GW per year, driven by the growth of local businesses amid increased import substitution policies and government financial support.

Incentives, including the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), have helped drive investment in the solar industry. Much of the growth is coming from new plants and expansions of existing facilities, helping the US strengthen its position in the global solar supply chain.

Production capacity continues to grow, reflecting the country’s strategy to transition to sustainable energy sources and reduce reliance on imports.
